The weather doesn’t make mistakes But it didn’t always do what they wanted So they invented gods and demons To blame, cajole, and bargain with And somehow they felt better about it But nothing changed And the weather still didn’t make mistakes So they invented things To take their minds off The gods, and the weather Like coal fires, aerosols and plastic But the old gods got jealous And the weather did change But it still doesn’t make mistakes
